Getting a job can become a real odyssey for young professionals who have not previously worked. On many occasions, likewise in some emerging markets, companies request trained professionals with several years of experience. However, some candidates, such as recent graduates, do not meet this requirement, complicating their chances of being hired. Studies carried out by a firm named Manpower revealing that young professionals with a bachelor’s degree have great difficulties in entering the labor market.

It becomes overwhelming for inexperienced professionals to get a job and prove their worth when companies seem to look for candidates with “superpowers” which in a very humble point of view, does not exist.

Some job vacancies are paradoxical and lead to a vicious circle. Companies request that young professionals have a minimum experience, which they do not have because the only way to cover that requirement is giving them a job.

Instead of looking for the perfect candidate or the candidate with superpowers, why not that hiring young professional with no experience can have a positive effect on an organization. These potential employees want to show their potential and at a certain point, they can contribute to new and fresh ideas.

There are some advantages that companies cou+

ld focus on recruiting process when are hiring professionals with no experience.

  1. No Bad Habits

People who do not have work experience do not have bad work habits either. This factor can play in favor of companies, since collaborators can better adapt to their needs. People who have many years of experience, in general, have defined their way of working and relating. On the other hand, a young person who finds his or hers first opportunity is open to learning, training and adapting to the ways of the company.

  1. They are flexible and forward thinking

The young men and women, who are beginning their professional careers today, are the managers that the future needs, not only because of their skills related to the work in the sector in which they work, but also because they have new visions of work itself. Work schedules, willingness to travel and flexibility when creating, modifying symbols and projects, give them more capacity to anticipate, adapt to change and make it part of the organizational strategy.

  1. Productivity

One of the great benefits of hiring inexperienced people, whether they are recent graduates or people who changed careers, is that these employees are looking to take on the world. These workers or collaborators are waiting for an opportunity and when they find it, they give everything of themselves to correspond to the expectations. The motivation of these elements can trigger a chain effect and infect other team members with that encouragement. A motivated and satisfied worker is also a more effective worker.

  1. Salary conditions

The salary of a person without experience is usually lower than that of a person with more experience. In the first instance, the bet may seem risky, but in a long term, it can be the most beneficial for a company. A young worker can adapt to the needs of the company. Although it is advisable to raise his or her salary as he/she reaches the goals.

  1. They allow you to break a social cycle

Unemployment levels at a young age can have long-term social consequences. Researches by Bell and Blanchflower (2010), found evidence of not only the economic costs of youth unemployment in terms of lower lifetime earnings, but also costs in terms of job satisfaction, happiness and health.

Thus, companies, generators of employment pas excellence, have the power and the opportunity to change reality, to create more and better opportunities through young talent.

Millennials born between 1980 and 1995 expect to continue learning when they enter a job and spend a good part of their time having new experiences and absorbing new information; companies should not see that as a handicap but as an advantage for having fresh and opened minded youngsters willing to explore their minds and contribute for the company. Companies should not miss raw talents; those are the real employees with superpowers and not work experience or fitting into innumerous requirements for a position.
