A man from his origins felt the need to communicate his emotions, sensations, and concerns about the world around him to better face the reality he did not know. He began to do so through gestures, sounds, smoke signals, drums, paintings, and moans, then it evolved with the same transformation of man, combining to produce and articulate sound.

Communication is the process that represents the most complex expression of human relationships; through it, mankind synthesizes, organizes, and elaborates all experience and knowledge to transmit it later to another individual. Human communication has had, through centuries, outstanding importance since it is the only way that exists to unite people and help and influence the actions and thoughts of other human beings.

Human communication is considered the exchange of information that gives rise to coexistence between human beings. In this article, we clearly intend to abroad about the importance of human communication, as it is the tool that makes it possible for societies to confer their human quality.

Communication is a pillar of every relationship because this process helps people express their ideas and allows them to understand their emotions and thoughts through others. As a result, we can develop feelings of hatred or affection towards others and create positive or negative relationships. People with great communication skills often tend to have fewer problems than people who do not communicate; when you communicate, you can set boundaries and establish goals that could make you and others more productive; only through communication, it is possible to strengthen empathy.

Another advantage of communication is that it helps us spread knowledge and information among people. For instance, writers like me, publish articles to share some knowledge with readers, teachers share their teachings with students, friends, and colleagues discuss their ideas with each other, and companies like AJS interact with customers/potential clients. In addition, the rise of the internet not only allows us to have access to information of all kinds but also makes it easier to have closer contact with people all over the world. It is also a way of answering the doubts of whom has them.

As an organization the importance of communication is as follows:

  • Communication promotes motivation by informing and clarifying the employees about the task to be done, the manner they are performing the task, and how to improve their performance if it is not up to the mark.
  • Communication is a source of information to the organizational members for the decision-making process as it helps identify and assessing alternative courses of actions.
  • Helps in socializing, in today’s life the only presence of another individual fosters communication. It is also said that one cannot survive without communication.

The functions of language according to the intention of the speaker are:

  • Instrumental: To satisfy desires;
  • Regulator: To control the behavior of others;
  • Interactional: To learn to relate to others;
  • Personal: To affirm identity and self-awareness;
  • Heuristic: To Learn and know the world;
  • Imaginative: To create a symbolic and fantastic world;
  • Informative: To transmit proposals and opinions;

No matter the language you speak, understanding and making the right use of communication will most definitely bring great results to your life or to your organization. As social beings that we are, communication is essential to our lives, and without it, there would not be a way of expressing ourselves. We sell products and services through communication; you prove points and ideas through communication, and the better you communicate the greater you become.
